John Musmacker, Head Coach (Cougars)
John graduated from Adelphi University in 1996 where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Physical Education. In 2001, he earned a Masters of Science in Technology, from Long Island University at CW Post. In 2005, he earned his School District Administration Certificate from Brooklyn College.
While at Adelphi, John played four years of baseball for the Adelphi Panthers and was a member of the 1993 & 1996 NCAA Division II World Series Teams. He was selected to the All-Northeast Regional Baseball Team in 1995 & 1996 as a shortstop.
In the Summer of 2009, The Long Island Athletics Cougars 18U team won the Long Island Connie Mack Championship.
In the Summer of 2007, The Long Island Athletics Cougars 18U team won the Boys of Summer Championship in their first full season.
In the Summer of 2006, John was the recruiting coordinator for the Bayside Yankees Baseball Organization. His duties included: traveling to New Jersey, Rochester and North Carolina to recruit top prospects around the country.
From 2001 to 2005 John was the Head Coach of the Long Island Tigers 17-18 Senior East Team. In 2003, he coached his team to the PONY Regional Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 2005, his team participated in the NABF World Series in Jackson, Mississippi.
In 1999 & 2000, John was the Head Coach for Switzerland's National Baseball Team. He is currently the head international scout for Switzerland's Wil Devils Baseball Team. Each summer Coach Musmacker is responsible for sending American players to Switzerland to play.
In 1998, John was the Assistant Coach in Wantagh where he helped the Warriors to a 35-1 record and the New York State Championship. From 1999 to 2003, John coached in Massapequa where he compiled a 61-10 record.
John is currently the Assistant Coach at Queens College and teaches Physical Education in Massapequa.
